DETAILS
A) Online Work
Whether we are employed or not, most of us have daily activities that take us out of the house. As we become tethered to our homes and immediate neighborhoods, it can be hard to figure out how to keep that feeling of ‘work’ in our lives.

For those of us who do not have a paid job that can be done remotely, we can feel pretty isolated from our daily work. How can we take what we love and put it online?

Each of us has different resources to support folks whose work has shifted or just disappeared.

Here is what I am planning to do.

I am locked at home but I have a 24/7 Zoom room (video conferencing with text/chat option). I want to find folks who can use that room. I’m hoping to find: public speakers will give their talks there; artists and educators will teach a class; performers will perform, mental health support meetings, etc.

Please add what you want to do in the comments below. I’m putting one of my ideas in the comments.

B) ONLINE COMMUNITY

Share Resources Not Fear

Many people are afraid. What can we each do to help people focus on something other than fear?

Share Information – I am a data geek (and a Virgo). I feel safer when I have information. I am reading a lot about Covid-19 so I can plan what I need. I also like to share that information. I just need to remember that data can be scary for some folks so I need to wait for people to ask for the data they need.

Share Resources - To lessen my fear, I need to know that my neighbors and I are watching out for each other. So we check on each other daily through the phone or online.

For folks not in my neighborhood, I like to share information on how to get resources. It might mean figuring out which places still have toilet paper or might be sharing a place to donate.

I am really interested in knowing what other folks are doing.”
